Walks with the mountain

Saturday & Sunday tours (8.50am for 9am departure)

Connecting with kunanyi’s stories

kunanyi carries cultural stories and song lines, while generations of Palawa (Tasmanian Aboriginal people) have used (and still use) its flora and fauna.

The Cultural Walk is a perfect way to connect deeper with the mountain if you’re running in another event, and the stories shared with you will stay with you forever, allowing you to reflect and draw on them - every time you run, or walk, with kunanyi.

Cultural Mountain Walk

Come for a very special walk and learn how the Palawa people used to live and survive on kunanyi, and hear about the cultural significance of the area. Take in spectacular views and hear the creation stories of the Trowunna and Palawa peoples.

Experienced kunanyi tour guide and captivating storyteller, yorta yorta man Tasman Langford will take you on an incredible walk, which will take your breath away. He will share knowledge that spans thousands of generations as you walk along some of kunanyi’s most impressive trails.

These are a perfect way to connect deeper with the mountain if you’re running in another event. They are open to everyone, so you can also share this with your family and friends.

The special stories Tasman shares with you will stay with you forever, allowing you to reflect and draw on them, every time you run, or walk, with kunanyi.

This is a walking tour on some short, moderately graded bushwalking tracks. A basic level of fitness is required.
