Why are you running kMR in 2024?

I have raced at kMR in both 2022 and 2023, and given how awesome those experiences were I was always planning on running something this year! Then the Golden Trail Series came along and there was no way I was missing out. I have had my eye on the 25km Mountain Run the last few years as I think it’s (1) an epic course and (2) a course that suits my strengths. I'm looking forward to the high level of competition, but also the great community feel of kMR which makes it so special!

What’s your trail running story?

I have always run on the trails in my training as an orienteer, but started racing more in 2021 when Covid limited international racing for orienteering. My competitive side has fallen in love with racing on the trails very quickly, and its sort of snowballed from there! Add that to the buzz I get from training on the trails on a daily basis and I'd say it’s going to be a long term relationship with me and trail running <3

I'm very grateful to be supported by Salomon Aus/NZ and Find Your Feet, to chase my goals on both the domestic and world stage!

What’s your 1 ‘must have’ item that you’ll have with you for kMR?

If you haven't seen the Salomon SLAB Pulsar 3 is now available in Australia. This is an awesome shoe taken to a whole other level in this version, and in my opinion the best shoe for the 25km Mountain Run. It's fast, grippy and agile, perfect for the technical up and down course.

What’s your goal for kMR?

I'm not going to dance around the fact, I want to win. It would be truly epic to get another win under my belt on what I still call home soil, and I think I've got what it takes. But the competition won't let me have it easy, as there are plenty of very talented runners coming, and might as easily end up in 10th!

What is/are your goal/s for the 2024 Golden Trail National Series?

I'll be doing what I can to win. I changed up my planned season a little when the GTNS was announced, and I'm going all in to see if I can win my ticket to the final later in the year. I'm also running Donna Double at the Warby Trail Fest, and think I'll need a good result at that and kMR to be competitive in the overall season, as the final race in Brisbane isn't really my strength. But that race will be a good chance to work on a weakness and get as fast as possible, no doubt helping my racing in the future!
